About UsThe American Line Builders Chapter was established in 1956 for the purpose providing members an effective agency through which to express their collective voice on issues effecting the line construction industry. Today the Chapter represents qualified, reliable, and experienced line contractors in the District of Columbia, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia. Within these areas, the Chapter maintains relationships with the following IBEW local unions: 17, 51, 70, 71, 145, 193, 196, 245, 309, 317, 369, 649, 702, 876, 934, and 1393. The Chapter currently has 40 members, who perform various types of outside electrical construction services in these areas.T he Chapter provides members with services in the areas of Labor Relations, Educational Services, Safety Training, and Government Affairs. Included in the Chapter's areas of support are the following:

STANDING COMMITTEES: Membership, Safety Codes and Standards, Nominating, Labor Relations SPECIAL COMMITTEES: Budget, By-laws, LINECO, 4th District IBEW Health Fund, Local Union 17 Health and Welfare Fund, Fourth District Steering Committee, Negotiating Committees, Fourth District Joint Conference Committee, Fourth District Labor Management Cooperative Committee JOINT SAFETY COMMITTEES: Each Local Union participates in Joint Safety Committees with American Line Builders ALBAT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ALBAT SUBCOMMITTEES: The members of the American Line Builders Chapter and each local union participate in American Line Builders Apprenticeship Training Subcommittees covering the 4th and 6th Districts of the IBEW.T he Chapter's support helps members excel in the services they provide to their customers: installation, maintenance, and upgrading of all types of outside electrical systems, from basic distribution systems, to the most sophisticated substation work, including fiber optics.T he American Line Builders Chapter of NECA is part of the foundation of success for the electrical industry.
